1959 Porsche 356

Sharing my car is the best! But after just a few sketchy situations...IMPORTANT- When a booking request is received, the rental is not confirmed until I confirm it. I will not confirm it without a message of introduction, including how the car is being used, and some general dialogue. I'm looking for a connection with the person to whom I'm handing the keys over to. That connection begins with sharing information about yourself and how you plan to use the car. Thank you for understanding that this is not a general car rental situation. If you do not message me along with the booking request, I will eventually decline the booking. If I am left wondering, "Who are you?" and what role will my car play in your day, I will decline the booking.

October - May: Can be made available (with some planning) for photoshoots and special events. Not available for Driving Rentals during the Fall/Winter Season. The car will need to be taken out of storage for a rental during that time frame, adding a $75 fee to the rental cost.

What will I say no to?
I'm more hesitant about out-of-town rentals. I.e., flying in and rental arrangements at SeaTac airport. I get nervous about unseasoned drivers —those who haven't driven a clutch in a while. Drivers who are not familiar with a vintage driving experience. With weddings, my preference is to spend a bit more time before the "big" day with the driver and/or groom to feel comfortable behind the wheel. Weddings can be exhausting and overwhelming. Send-offs are usually in the evening, in the dark, after a very full day. I want drivers to feel 100% familiar with the car so that the final send-off is safe and flawless.

Other than that, I'm generally a super chill person and love sharing my car! Thanks again for understanding.

POLICIES -

NO RAIN - Not suitable for rain/bad weather. If you are rained out and unable to continue with your scheduled time, I will work with you to ensure fairness. If it is raining and you wish to continue with the rental for an event or photo shoot, then a professional transport may need to be hired (average cost: $ 600).

STAY CLOSE - Not suitable for long-distance road trips. Restricted to a 50-mile radius of Lynnwood, WA.

PICK-UP UNDER THE SUN AND CALM TRAFFIC - Rental Time must begin during daylight hours (avoid driving this car for the first time in the dark and rush hour traffic).

KNOW HOW TO SHIFT - This is a vintage car that requires current experience with a clutch. 4 gears, H-shift.

RISK - Note the assumption of risk when driving a small vehicle with no airbags/rollbar. You must drive attentively and defensively. If renting for a special event, such as a wedding send-off, I encourage you to come out to Lynnwood beforehand and get comfortable behind the wheel. The car is a unique drive, and wedding days are exhausting in every way. I want to offer you every option to feel prepared, comfortable, and safe.

DRINKING or OTHER: No driving while impaired. This car requires your undivided attention. You must be awake and sober, not intoxicated. If you are not able to drive the vehicle safely, please call me. I will always come to get the car and generally waive the pick-up fee in this situation. I want you to be safe.

WEDDING DAYS OR OTHER - When scheduling this car for a Special Event, I will do everything in my power to make sure the vehicle is ready, available, and running perfectly. However, due to the nature of the car, unexpected maintenance situations may arise, making the vehicle unavailable (although this has not happened yet). My commitment to safety and reliability may cause a cancellation. Please always have a plan B. It is sometimes a good idea to also register the wedding coordinator, best man, or a friend as a secondary driver for the day. This allows for moving around of the car and coordination by another person.

PHOTOSHOOTS - These sessions typically last only a couple of hours. Contact me via Drive Share Message to coordinate directly. In general, I drive the car out and stay on location. I charge $300 for a (up to) 2-hour shoot and an additional $150 for commute time and gas (depending on the distance).

ROAD RASH - Years ago, I used this car as my daily driver. She has since gone through a restoration process. However, it is not museum quality. It is a classic car with some squeaks, a unique personality, and a patina... meant to be driven. She has a story, as all good classics should. My intention in sharing her is to create a community around her that gives back to the car. Earnings are directly allocated to the maintenance and improvements of the car. I love hearing guest suggestions and ideas on adding extras or changing out something. I’m excited to share and create a collective enthusiasm and partnership around this little 356!

GET TO KNOW HER - Upon delivery or pick up of the car, please allow 15 minutes to learn about operations.

LEAVE YOUR CAR IF YOU WANT - I have a large driveway at the end of a cul-de-sac. You are welcome to leave your car at my place.

AGE RESTRICTION - You must be 25 years or older to operate this car. You may be under the required age limit for photo shoots/event rentals.


PICK YOUR TOP - Uniquely, this car can switch between hard and soft/convertible tops. Let me know what top you would like ahead of time. The hardtop provides more protection from the elements and is more enclosed, but it is not suitable for drivers over 6ft.

DELIVERY FEE & Gas REIMBURSEMENT:
· FUEL—The car will be fueled up in Lynnwood. Fuel use is calculated starting from the home base in Lynnwood.
· Please either return the car to Lynnwood with a full tank of premium unleaded or reimburse me via Venmo or Zelle for the fuel costs - When I refuel the car, I will text you the receipt for reimbursement.
· DELIVERY—When I deliver the car to you/location, I will need to be transported back to my home, generally via Uber. The same applies on the trip out to retrieve the car; an Uber trip is needed to bring me to the location. Please reimburse me for the Uber costs—I will send you the receipt via text.
· Sometimes, I can arrange for a friend to drive me to your location; if so, I charge a fee of up to $75 each way to cover their gas and time ($150 round trip); this will be less if your location is within my neighborhood/Lynnwood, Mukilteo, Everett. The goal is reimbursement, not to profit.

· EXTRAS—If a ferry is required during the commute, please reimburse me for the sailing costs; I will send you the receipt via text.

· If one-way commute time exceeds 45 min (1.5 hours total), please pay me for that time at a rate of $18 per 15 minutes. This generally comes into play with trips out to Bainbridge Island or Gig Harbor, Tacoma, Auburn, driving during rush hours, Etc.

Being an Intermeccanica owner is part of a story of roots, passion, and innovation. When I was seven years old, I decided the 356 Porsche was made for me. When I was in my 20s, I realized that driving around a rare historical artifact was less than practical and not exceptionally affordable. Yet, I had much respect for the 356, too much to turn to the average kit car. That is when I met Henry Reisner of Intermeccanica: history, roots, passion, innovation, craftsmanship, and respect.

Intermeccanica is a hand-built coach that, with every sanded-down curve, pays tribute to the 356 Roadster Convertible D. This car is solid and provides the driver with the ultimate 356 experience, featuring some modern extras such as power windows and Bluetooth audio connection.

At this stage in my life, the hum of this motor and the simplicity of this machine provides a welcome respite from daily life. You may find the same Zen Moment behind the wheel or add to your special occasion with her tuxedo look. Whatever the occasion, it is sure to be a classy yet cool partnership experience in an iconic sort of way.
